I just learned that Princess Jasmine’s appearance was based on a white woman. Apparently, the designer was unsatisfied with the results from basing the character’s look off women of racial minorities and opted instead to “whiten” her up. I would say I’m surprised that a conglomerate as racist as Disney would do this, but I’m not.
